Overview

Get the latest on tax administration and tax disputes.

The seminar will deal with the legislative framework, recent applicable authorities, and administrative policies and procedures which are essential to managing your tax case/dispute with SARS to ensure a fair and equal outcome for the taxpayer.

The worldwide trend is that tax disputes are on the rise with revenue authorities. Knowledge and navigational skills are key to the tax administration landscape in order to secure correct, transparent and fair treatment from the authorities.

The backbone of the SARS administrative processes is contained in the Tax Administration Act which came into operation in October 2012. The Act assists SARS to achieve its objections in an efficient and effective manner whilst also increasing the compliance levels of taxpayers. This one piece of legislation strives to incorporate the administrative provisions that are generic to all tax Acts, remove redundant administrative provisions and harmonise provisions as far as possible.
